Santa's Slay

December 20, 2005 - Rated: R
Runtime: 95 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: David Steiman

Writer(s): David Steiman

Staring: Bill Goldberg, Douglas Smith, Emilie De Ravin, Robert Culp, Saul Rubinek

Description: Santa, the son of Satin, returns to his normal slaying after a 1000 year old bet with an Angel ends where Santa must be nice to everyone. Now that the bet is over he is making up for lost time.

Gore/Violence: If you are looking for a movie with lots of violence and gore, this is it. The only thing that keeps this movie going is the violence. Santa does a damn good job at eliminating the naughty, AND the nice.

Body Count: Something that goes hand-in-hand with a good, violent movie is body count. When Santa starts killing, he doesn't stop until everyone is dead.

Nudity & Sexuality: This movie could have used some more nudity, or spread the nudity out a bit. Only one part of the movie had nudity, but there was plenty of it. Lots of topless girls always improves a movies rating in my book. :-)

Death Scenes: I have to admit it, there is some creative death scenes in this movie. For example, in the beginning of the movie, Santa gets started right away on the killing. He breaks through the chimney and starts his mass destruction on an unsuspecting family. One of the girls faint, falling on a foreign object, going right through her chest killing her. He also shoves a turkey drumstick into a mans mouth and then slams his head into the table, pushing it into his head.

Acting/Storyline: Overall the acting was pretty good. Douglas Smith (Playing Nicholas Yuleson) seemed to over-act some parts in the movie. But that's expected in cheesy horror movies. I enjoyed the storyline where Santa is the Son of Satin, but the reason of why he had to stop slaying was pretty stupid. (He lost a curling match!)

Final Rating: It might seem that I enjoyed the movie from all the positive points I gave it. But it was pretty much just enough to keep me tuned in. I thought the movie was mediocre, and could have been better. If they could have thought of a better way for Santa to stop slaying, I might of given it, a severed head, or two more in rating.

BiGMaN gives this movie 1.5/5 severed heads!
