Description: A group of murderers escape from jail and take two teenage girls hostage. Each member of the gang repeatedly rape the girls and the gang ends up killing them both. The gang then seeks refuge inside a house that belonged to one of the girls.
Gore/Violence: Not too much gore in this one, but there is a good amount of blood. Also, the rape scenes were very disturbing. The way they were shot would leave a chill down your spine.
Body Count: The body count pretty good, around 5 people died in the movie.
Nudity & Sexuality: There one scene with some boobies in it, nothing more.
Death Scenes: Nothing really special with the death scenes, but the death scene with the girl walking into the lake after being raped will definitely stick in your mind.
Acting/Storyline: The story line is a little disturbing if you really think about it. A group of murderers/rapists kidnap two girls, rape them, murder them, then hang out with the parents of one of the girls. Wes Craven has a twisted mind and we love him for it. The storyline was done well, the writing really showed how crazy these guys were.
Now, one of the major problems with this movie are the policemen. The policemen are portrayed as unintelligent and annoying people. Every decision they make will leave you shaking your head. Wes Craven used no common sense when writing for the policemen, the movie would have been a lot better if the police had some brains in this movie.
For the time it was made, the acting was alright. Some of the acting was over done, but overall it was alright.
Final Rating: Over all the movie is worth seeing. I know its hailed as a classic but I just don't see it. I can see why there was so much controversy over this movie with the disturbing rape scenes (which are still disturbing), but personally I don't think that this movie stood the test of time. Its still a movie that is worth your time, and one that still should be in your collection.
