Dawn of the Dead
Runtime: 137 MinutesStudio: Anchor Bay
Director: George A. Romero
Writer(s): George A. Romero
Staring: David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H Reinger, Gaylen Ross
Description: Stephen and Francine, two TV reporters meet up with Roger and Peter, two SWAT team members and take a helicopter to an abandon shopping mall in an effort to survive the attacks of flesh eating zombies, and a motorcycle gang.
Gore/Violence: This movie is FILLED with gore and violence. Because of the amount it was banned in several countries. You get to see zombies heads blown off, people getting shot, ripped apart, everything you would like to see in a good zombie movie!
Body Count: There is a blood bath at the beginning of the film. The swat team tries to eradicate an apartment building of zombies, and kill countless zombies, but people die as well. All is well for the 4 for a while, but when a motorcycle gang comes over for a visit, the violence resumes. Roger and Stephen die by zombies, and Peter almost let himself die, but he changed his mind, and ran away.
Nudity & Sexuality: Unfortunately no.
Death Scenes: Awesome death scenes. Heads exploiding, decapitations, chopped into pieces, shot to death, this movie has it all.
Acting/Storyline: The acting was pretty good, and the storyline was nice. I couldn't help let my mind wander in the middle of the movie thinking of all the things I would do if I were in a shopping mall with everything at my fingertips.
Final Rating: This is a great movie, and a nice addition to the dead series by George A Romero. I'm a big fan of his movies, and recommend this movie to everyone! If you haven't seen this movie yet, shame on you!! Note: The ultimate edition DVD is pretty nice. It has US, Extended, and European Versions. As well as a disc of documentaries. It's a little pricey (Since it is basically the same movie 3 times), but worth it.
