Description: After losing his father, Kale turns into a trouble teen. He starts to get into a lot of trouble and as a result of this he is put under house arrest for 3 months. While stuck in the house, he starts to pick up on his neighbors routines but one neighbor starts to interest him. After hearing information about a serial murderer on the news, he starts to match information from the news to one of his neighbors. There is only one problem, his neighbor knows that he knows.
Gore/Violence: This movie has no gore in it. There is some violence in it and blood but no guts in this one.
Body Count: Body count is really low in the movie. The movie is more of a stalker/thriller movie so the body count is not expected to be high.
Nudity & Sexuality: No nudity in this movie, just Sarah Roemer walking around in a bikini.
Death Scenes: Now, there are a couple of people that died in the movie. The death scenes were not creative and really not worth mention.
Acting/Storyline: The storyline was really good. I was interested throughout the whole movie. Now, the movie starts off with a bang, when Kale loses his father, but then the movie slows down after that. After Kale's father's death, the movie turns into a summer teen movie and follows Kale through some of the problems he is having. The way they shot the movie was excellent because a lot of the movie is used to establish how Kale knows he is living beside a serial killer which makes it much more believable and because of this I forgave the slow start to the move. Around 45 minutes in, the movie does pick up and starts to get really intense. The tension in the movie is raised considerably and his neighbor really starts to show his true colours.
The acting is top notch. Aaron Yoo does a great job in the movie. Throughout the whole movie, Aaron Yoo is hilarious and adds great comic relief to the movie. Also, Shia LaBeouf does a great job with his character. He makes the audience believe that is going out of his mind being stuck in that house and he comes up with some creative ways to break the boredom.
Final Rating: Disturbia is a surprising movie. I didn't really expect too much from this movie, but I did leave the theater feeling that I got my moneys worth. Like I said above, the movie does have a slow start but the intense ending and the comic relief provided by Aaron Yoo makes this movie worth watching.
