Description: An evil necromancer has died and his restless demonic spirit invades the body of sexy nurse Sherri. Transformed into a maniacal killing machine, Sherri stalks the hospital corridors turning them blood-red with terror and madness. Impaling, slicing and dicing anyone in her path, Sherri’s only hope becomes two friends who must unearth and destroy the necromancer’s rotting corpse, thus sending the monstrous spirit back down to hell. (From Shock-O-Rama Cinema)
Gore/Violence: There is a little bit of gore in this one. There's no decapitations or anything like that, but there is blood in the movie which is always welcomed.
Body Count: The body count is not really high in the movie. When you take in account how many main characters there is in the movie, the body count is low in comparison.
Nudity & Sexuality: First of all, you have to watch the unrated version of Nurse Sherri. The unrated version has all kinds of nudity in it. There are boobs everywhere in this movie and at one point in the movie there is a shot of some women genitalia. I'm not sure how the rated version stacks up in this department but who cares, you get both version when you buy the DVD.
Death Scenes: The death scenes are basic for today standards. There is nice death with a pitch fork, but nothing else stands out.
Acting/Storyline: The plot is sort of similar to The Exorcist. Nurse Sherri is possessed by a demonic spirit and the spirit makes her kill people. The possession takes place at night while Sherri is sleeping. The demonic spirit is portrayed by some sort of green smoke which kind of took me out of the experience. I wish they could have found another way of symbolizing the possession because the green smoke is really out of place in the movie. The movie itself was sub-par. The reason I think that is because I've seen The Exorcist and when you have a movie that is similar to The Exorcist then you have to compare the too.
As a independent movie, this movie is not unbearable to watch. I've seen some really bad movies in my lifetime and this is not even close to being one of them. Personally, I like the ending of the movie, the writers decided not to do an exorcism and found a believable way to get rid of spirit.
Now the acting is average. During the movie there were some scenes that were fine, and then there were scenes that were not. Again, remember that this movie was released in 1978 and the acting does not stand the test of time.
Final Rating: This movie comes on a DVD package offered by Shock-O-Rama Cinema. In the DVD package you get Five Bloody Graves (which is a western movie, I'm not a big fan of westerns), Nurse Sherri (Theatrical Release) and Nurse Sherri (Unrated Version). You definitely get a lot for 14.99, and the movie would be more enjoyable if you have a couple of friends over to watch it with you.
