2001 Maniacs

2005 - Rated: R
Runtime: 87 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: Tim Sullivan

Writer(s): Chris Kobin, Tim Sullivan

Staring: Robert Englund, Lin Shaye, Giuseppe Andrews, Jay Gillespie, Marla Malcolm

Description: Three college students on their way to Daytona for spring break take a detour, which leads them to Pleasant Valley, a southern town, with friendly townsfolk. Five other people find their way to Pleasant Valley, and they are guests of honour in the town's celebration. All if fine, until some of their friends start disappearing.

Gore/Violence: There is A LOT of gore and violence in this one! You will not be disappointed.

Body Count: A fairly high body count in this movie. Poor college students.

Nudity & Sexuality: Woohoo! The beautiful Pleasant Valley women in this movie are more then happy to show us their boobies.

Death Scenes: Great death scenes to go with the violence. We get to see decapitations, a person impaled, and a person drinking acid.

Acting/Storyline: Fairly good acting in this movie. Everybody plays their part perfectly. I liked the storyline, and did not mind the twist at the end.

Final Rating: This movie is a remake of the 1964 film 2000 Maniacs. I have not seen it yet, so I cannot compare it to the original. I liked this movie, even the twist at the end. It had a nice pace to it, and had some pretty cool death scenes in it. I noticed that there were a couple people in this movie that were also in Cabin Fever. Even with the same character type. Also, Kane Hodder (Jason from Friday the 13th) also had a cameo in this movie.

BiGMaN gives this movie 3.5/5 severed heads!
