The Exorcism of Emily Rose

2005 - Rated: PG-13/14A
Runtime: 119 Minutes

Studio: Sony Pictures

Director: Scott Derrickson

Writer(s): Paul Harris Boardman, Scott Derrickson

Staring: Jennifer Carpenter, Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Campbell Scott, Colm Feore

Description: Erin Bruner, a lawyer, takes a homicide case involving a priest (Father Moore) where an exorcism ritual was performed, and the subject died.

Gore/Violence: This movie doesn't really have any gore, or violence in it. It's not that type of movie.

Body Count: Emily Rose died, as well as a doctor (Dr. Cartwright).

Nudity & Sexuality: N/A

Death Scenes: This is not the type of movie where there are super special effects in death scenes. Emily's post-mortem picture is pretty cool, and the Dr. getting hit by a car is pretty standard.

Acting/Storyline: This movie has great acting, and a super storyline. I love movies like this, and movies involving exorcisms.

Final Rating: I loved this movie. I tried to get a lot of people I know to watch it, but a lot of them were turned away because they thought it was going to be too scary. It could be pretty scary for some people, but the movie is worth it. For me, a scary part was when Jason woke up and saw Emily all contorted on the floor staring at him. I would have thrown a blanket over her and waited until morning to check on her. :-)

This movie was based on the true story about a German woman by the name of Anneliese Michel. The working title was actually The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel. The difference between her story and real life was her parents, as well as the exorcists were found guilty and were sentenced to six months in jail, and probation.

BiGMaN gives this movie 4.5/5 severed heads!
