C.H.U.D

1984 - Rated: R
Runtime: 88 Minutes

Studio: Anchor Bay

Director: Douglas Cheek

Writer(s): Shepard Abbott, Parnell Hall

Staring: John Heard, Daniel Stern, Christopher Curry, Kim Greist, Laure Mattos, Brenda Currin

Description: There has been a string of missing person reports around one area of the city. Police have no leads, but a bum notice something very strange happening in the sewers. Turns out creatures are on the loose in the sewers and their choice of food is meat...human meat. Now, the bum (who seems to know a lot about these creatures) is teaming up with a detective to put an end to these creatures once and for all.

Gore/Violence: There is a decent amount of gore in this picture. There are some nice decapitated heads, bodies ripped apart, intestines laying around enjoying the breeze, all good stuff.

Body Count: In this movie, the body count is in the middle. The deaths scenes weren't good any ways so who cares about the body count.

Nudity & Sexuality: Didn't see any chest fat in this one.

Death Scenes: The death scenes weren't that good. Some of the death scenes were cut-away death scenes, some were just basic death scene like a guy getting shot, nothing spectacular. The movie would mostly show the aftermath of the deaths, for example, a head ripped off, or a body ripped in half.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline was alright. It never really kept my interest, I was getting kind of bored of the movie by the end. The movie had no creepy atmosphere or anything like that, it had a few scenes that lead me to think that it would get better but it never did.
The only character I liked was the bum who worked in the soup kitchen, everyone else is forgettable.

Final Rating: The movie is not really worth watching. If you are a horror movie fanatic, then watch it. For everyone else, I recommend staying away from this title, you won't be missing much.
