Desperation

2006 - Rated: Unrated
Runtime: 131 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: Mick Garris

Writer(s): Stephen King

Staring: Tom Skerritt, Steven Weber, Annabeth Gish, Ron Perlman, Shane Haboucha

Description: A group of people are arrested by a possessed police officer (Collie Entragian) in the town of Desperation. They found out that he had killed the entire town in two days. Now they must fight for their lives against an ancient evil that requires human hosts to survive.

Gore/Violence: Since this is a made for TV movie, there is not a lot of gore in this movie. The possessed persons in the movie make up most of the gory parts of the movie. Collie Entragian just had some blood on his face, and marks from the ripping of his skin due to being too big for his own body. The possessed Ellie Carver had her jaw knocked off during a fight with another person she was trying to take as a host, but that is pretty much it.

Body Count: Now this is a tricky one. A couple people died that we were familiar with in the movie. But also, the entire town of Desperation was killed off before we got there. So, it has an average body count, with the potential to be extremely high, if you count the townspeople that were killed before hand.

Nudity & Sexuality: Made for TV = No boobies.

Death Scenes: There weren't too many death scenes shown, but those that were shown were not that great. Basically being shot, and attacked by animals. Nothing fancy.

Acting/Storyline: Some great acting in this movie. I loved Ron Perlman as the possessed police officer. He played that part so well, it made the movie a little bit better. The other acting was pretty good as well. Overall well acted. The story line was pretty good with the exception to all the religious crap they had to add to the movie.

Final Rating: I thought this was a pretty good movie. I love the acting of Ron Perlman, and the story line was really good. I did not like, however, that they had to add all of the addition religious parts to the movie. The fact that the boy was religious was ok, I don't have a problem with that, it's just everyone else attacked him for being religious, and questioned every move he made, and questioned constantly why "his" God done this, and that to so and so. Enough already! Overall Enjoyable movie though.

BiGMaN gives this movie 3.5/5 severed heads!
