Omen IV: The Awakening

1991 - Rated: Unrated
Runtime: 97 Minutes

Studio: 20th Century Fox

Director: Jorge Montesi, Dominique Othenin-Girard

Writer(s): David Seltzer, Harvey Bernhard, Brian Taggert

Staring: Asia Vieira , Faye Grant, Michael Woods, Michael Lerner Madison Mason

Description: Damien is now dead, but a girl is born and is carrying on the prophecy. Adopted by two attorneys, Karen and Gene York, Karen suspects that something is wrong with Delia and hires a private investigator to look in to her birth parents, and the strange occurrences.

Gore/Violence: Not really any gore in this movie since it was a made for TV movie, but there is some violence. As with the other movies, the child will terminate any person who is in their way.

Body Count: I would have to say that the body count is on par with the other omen movies. They have a small amount of deaths in the movie, but they play a big role in the overall story of the movie.

Nudity & Sexuality: Nope. It was made for TV.

Death Scenes: Not really any good death scenes in this movie. The nanny gets pushed out the window, there is another decapitation, similar to the first movie, there are snake bites resulting in death, getting hit by a wrecking ball, stabbing with a scalpel, and a gun shot death.

Acting/Storyline: This storyline is VERY similar to the original Omen, but with a twist. It takes place after the death of Damien, and she is to continue on the prophecy. The acting is just alright, and doesn't blow me away.

Final Rating: When the movie was just starting I thought it was going to be a remake of the first with a girl (Delia) instead of a boy (Damien). And I continued to think this way throughout this movie because there were key similarities in this movie. For example, the death of the nanny (But not the exact same death), the mother getting pregnant, the dog protecting the child, and the suspecion by one of the parents that the child is evil. (This time the mom, not the dead). But it was not until the end of the movie that we found out that it had a big twist, unlike any of the Omens before it. This wasn't a great movie, but if you watched the last three, you might as well give this one a shot, you might like it.

BiGMaN gives this movie 2/5 severed heads!
