Man-Thing

2005 - Rated: R
Runtime: 106 Minutes

Studio: Live / Artisan

Director: Brett Leonard

Writer(s): Hans Rodionoff

Staring: Rawiri Paratene, Steve Bastoni, Robert Mammone, Jack Thompson, Matthew Le Nevez, Rachael Taylor

Description: A new sheriff is appointed in a swampy Florida county and some mysterious gruesome murders are his first case. Ever since an oil company started drilling for oil, workers have started disappearing and showing up brutally murdered. Now the sheriff needs to quickly find out who or what is committing these murders.

Gore/Violence: This one is not too gory, some of the death scenes are not showed, they just show the after math. There is a decent amount of blood in the movie but nothing overboard.

Body Count: The body count is not very high in this movie. It has around 4 to 5 death scenes in the movie (not sure the exact number).

Nudity & Sexuality: Some sexuality in this one but nothing to get excited about.

Death Scenes: Unfortunately some of the death scenes were not shown, they would just show the aftermath. Not showing the deaths might not be a bad idea, if they did show the death scenes it would probably look unrealistic. The death scenes that were shown weren't really that good. One scene does stand out, one of the guys run into Man-thing and Man-thing rips him apart. The scene lasted for like 10 seconds but it was memorable.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline comes from the comic Man-thing created by Marvel Comics. I have never read a man-thing comic so I have no idea if the storyline stays true to the comics. I thought the story line was good and interesting.

The acting was top notch. I have no complaints in this department at all.

Final Rating: Overall, I thought the movie was pretty good. I heard praise about this movie but I don't think it lived up to the praise. The movie was not bad, it was just alright. The movie had some really good parts in it but the movie overall was just alright.

Shustaines gives this movie 3/5 severed heads!
