Poltergeist III

1988 - Rated: PG-13
Runtime: 98 Minutes

Studio: MGM

Director: Gary Sherman

Writer(s): Gary Sherman Brian Taggert

Staring: JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, Heather O'Rourke, Oliver Robins, Zelda Rubinstein.

Description: After escaping from Kane the second time, Carol Anne is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle to hopefully forget the horrible experience she went through. When a psychiatrist tries to unlock her past, he accidentally resurrects Kane and he wants Carol Anne more than ever. Again, Carol Anne must battle Kane for her life which will not be an easy task.

Gore/Violence: Just like the other two movies, there is very little gore or violence in this movie.

Body Count: Surprise, Surprise!!! Two people actually die in this movie. Its not much, but its something.

Nudity & Sexuality: Unfortunately, this category hasn't changed from the other two movies. No Nudity.

Death Scenes: Since two people died in this movie, there are death scenes to talk about. They should have taken the death scenes out because they sucked donkey balls.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline is starting to get stale. The storyline is the same as the other two, the only difference is that Kane is haunting a whole sky scraper. One thing that was cool with this movie is the use of mirrors. The mirrors were the gateway to the other side, and the movie had some really cool scenes using the mirrors.

The acting was fine throughout the whole movie. Unfortunately, Julian Beck (who played Kane in the second Poltergeist) passed away and was replaced. I didn't get the same creepiness from Nathan Davis ( who played Kane this time around) as I did with Julian Beck, but everything else was fine.

Final Rating: I said this in my review for Poltergeist II, this movie is the same as the original. It is a little darker and the use of mirrors made for some really cool scenes, but the story is exactly the same as the original. This movie did not take any chances with the storyline, and everything about this movie seems too familiar with the previous movies. The movie is definitely worth watching once, especially to see Heather O'Rourke last screen appearance.

Shustaines gives this movie 3/5 severed heads!
