Description: An unfaithful wife discovers that her dead husband, Frank, is alive in the attic. She helps him gather victims to build up his strength and to bring his human form back. Kirsty, Frank's niece, accidentally solves the puzzle box that opens a gate to hell. To save her soul, she makes a deal with the demons to bring Frank, the one soul that got away from them back to them.
Gore/Violence: Wow, gore galore. This movie has an insane amount of gore. There is blood everywhere, skinless bodies running around, cannibalism, and the lovely chains that Pinhead uses to rip his victims apart.
Body Count: Body count is alright, a lot of the killing takes place by Julia. Julia brings sacrifices Frank, who then eats them to build his human form. Pinhead is not really seen until the end of the movie.
Nudity & Sexuality: There is a scene of sexuality in the movie. No complaints here.
Death Scenes: The death scenes are nothing to talk about. One scene, Julia uses a hammer to kill the sacrifice for Frank, and the others consists of Frank just attacking the people and eating them. The best death scene takes place at the end with Pinhead and Frank.
Acting/Storyline: Story line is a very creative one. There is a puzzle box that opens the gates to hell and calls on cenobites to take you away for an eternity of pain and pleasure. The storyline will keep you hooked for the whole movie, especially when Kirsty opens the box, and needs to make good on her deal with the demons since her soul is at stake.
Acting is really good in the movie. Each actor/actress portrays his/her character in an exceptional way. Also Doug Bradley puts the point across that Pinhead is not messing around and will rip your soul apart without hesitation.
Final Rating: This is a great movie, and it's very easy to see why it is seen as a classic. The movie has everything you want in a horror movie; it's definitely worth picking up.
