Jack O'Lantern

2004 - Rated: R
Runtime: 94 Minutes

Studio: Live / Artisan

Director: Ron McLellen

Writer(s): Ron McLellen

Staring: Dave R. Watkins, Kevin L. Powers, Tracy Yarkoni, Justice Leak, Brian Avenet-Bradley

Description: A year ago, Jack was involved in a terrible car accident that his dad didn't survive. Now he is having terrible, recurring nightmares of that tragic night. He starts to realize that the dreams contain details that will lead to the truth of what happened on the night that Jack lost his dad. What Jack doesn't know is that he is being used to fulfill someone else's revenge and every time he falls asleep, someone involved in the accident ends up dead.

Gore/Violence: The movie had TV movie death scenes, what I mean by that is the camera turns away before the character gets killed. There is a decent amount of blood in the movie, usually shown dripping of a tire or being splattered against the wall.

Body Count: Around 6 people died in the film which is pretty good but the problem lies in the death scenes. Death scenes are unoriginal and uninspired.

Nudity & Sexuality: Absolutely no nudity or the ever popular sexuality. BOOOOO!

Death Scenes: Like I said above, the death scenes where not original. Most of the deaths ended with a shot away of the death and blood dripping or splattering against the wall. There was only one good death where a girl gets her head crushed by a truck. Other than that, there is nothing to look forward too.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline didn't have much going for it. A guy drops off a pumpkin, guy carves pumpkin, people start dying. With that one sentence I just saved you a rental fee. There is more to the storyline than that but BiGMaN and I started to loose interest and the end, so were not 100% sure what happened. The only part that stuck in our minds was how rotten that pumpkin was.

The acting in the movie was not bad, but it wasn't good either. The acting from everyone had the stench of amateur on it. The movie was very low budget, but when you have no acting, you should definitely have a good storyline to keep the viewer entertained.

Final Rating: Save your money, don't even bother renting it. Some movies are bad but great for a horror night with friends, unfortunately this one is not. Everything about the movie sucked, most importantly the death scenes are terrible. Skip over this one, you won't be missing much.
