The Ring

Description: A fairy-tale of a tape that when watched will kill who ever watches it seven days later has been surfaced. No one believed the tale, but when four teenagers die after watching the same tape, a reporter sets out to get the truth. Rachel, (the reporter), tracks down the tape and watches the creepy video. Now, she has seven days to find out how to save her life.
Gore/Violence: This movie is not gory at all. It does have some creepy images in it, like the dead bodies after their seven days are up. Also, on the death tape, there is a little blood in the video buts its all in black and white.
Body Count: Only two people are shown dying in the movie. The body count is very low.
Nudity & Sexuality: Woman + shirts on = no boobies
Death Scenes: There are only two death scenes to talk about. The first death scene is shown for about five seconds. It shows the aftermath of what happened when the seven days are up. The second death scene happens at the end, and they both are not spectacular.
Acting/Storyline: The Ring is a North American remake of a Japanese movie called Ringu. I have never seen it, but BiGMan has (he might do a review on it); The Ring is a little bit different than the Japanese version. The storyline is an interesting one involving a video tape that will kill the viewer in seven days. The movie relies solely on the storyline alone, with no action sequences, or entertaining deaths scenes. The storyline is good enough to keep the viewer hooked.
Acting is down very well in the movie. David Dorfman, who played Aidan Keller in the movie does a very good job of showing
Final Rating: I really enjoyed the movie, I'm usually against PG-13 horror films but this one had a really intriguing storyline that kept my hooked. Also, the creepy atmosphere throughout the whole movie really bumped the quality of the movie up in my books anyways.
