Saw II

2004 - Rated: R
Runtime: 92 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: Darren Lynn Bousman

Writer(s): Leigh Whannell Darren Lynn Bousman

Staring: Donnie Wahlberg, Shawnee Smith, Tobin Bell, Franky G, Glenn Plummer, Dina Meyer.

Description: Jigsaw is at it again, but this time he is raising the stakes. Jigsaw has caputred and locked a group of people in a booby trapped house testing their will to live. He also caputred Detective Matthew's son and now he is testing Detective Matthews' love for his son. Will Detective Matthews get his son back or will his son end up as a another victim of Jigsaw? Let the games begin.

Gore/Violence: The movie is filled with blood and sick traps. If you don't like gore in your horror movies, then don't bother watching this one.

Body Count: The body count is pretty high in this awesome sequel. Almost everyone dies in the house in a sick twisted way, which is fine by me.

Nudity & Sexuality: No boobies, just blood and guts.

Death Scenes: Some of the death scenes are creative, and some are just simple. The more creative ones are the gun on the door trap, the venus fly-trap helmet, and the furnace trap. It was predictable what was going to happen with the furnace trap, but I liked it anyways.

Acting/Storyline: The story is still interesting even though we've heard it all before in the original. In this story, Jigsaw is testing a love of a father by putting his son in a sick twisted game with a group of people that all have a connection to eachother. While that game is going on, Jigsaw is playing a game with the father, and if he follows the rules of the game he will save his son. The story is well written and has a nice twist and a good ending which is hard to find in a horror movie.

The acting in the movie is top notch. No complaints here.

Final Rating: This movie is awesome. One of the best horror movie to come out since the original Saw. Hopefully more studio's take note and come up with original stories instead of remaking old classics. Everyone should pick up Saw and Saw II it is worth every penny.

Shustaines gives this movie 4.5/5 severed heads!
