Trail Of A Serial Killer

1997 - Rated: R
Runtime: 88 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: Damian Lee

Writer(s): Damian Lee Joseph O'Brien

Staring: Chris Penn, Jennifer Dale, Chad McQueen, Terri Hawkes, Michael Madsen.

Description: FBI agent Jason Enola has been chasing a serial killer for 10 years without any luck. After 4 years of resting, the killer is back with a vengeance. Jason is back on the case and with the help of a psychiatrist, he is racing against the clock to stop the murderer before the murderer can strike again.

Gore/Violence: Unfortunately there is not much here. There is some blood in the movie, but nothing that will make you cringe.

Body Count: The body count is very low on this movie, there is around 3 or 4 deaths.

Nudity & Sexuality: not much, but at least they tried.

Death Scenes: Every death scene is similar. The killer injects the victim with a paralyzing fluid and then kills the victim. There is not much more than that, every victim is pretty much the same.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline was alright. Unfortunately, I found myself bored at some parts during the movie. The movie could not keep my interest all the way through, I had to force myself through those parts. Also the use of slow motion is ridiculous. Every death scene is shot in slow motion, even insignificant parts are shot in slow motion (for example: The detective walking to the crime scene....wow intense!).

The acting wasn't too bad in the movie, it just seemed that the actors were as bored as I was.

Final Rating: The movie is sub-par and not worth buying. The movie started off alright, but other parts are just painful to sit through. The use of slow motion is way over done and added to the pain I was already feeling from the movie. Do yourself a favour and skip this one.

Shustaines gives this movie 2/5 severed heads!
