The Butcher

July 11th 2006 - Rated: R
Runtime: 90 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate

Director: Edward Gorsuch

Writer(s): Michael Hurst

Staring: Myiea Coy, April Gilbert, Ashley Rebecca Hawkins, Bill Jacobson, Tiffany Kristensen

Description: Six college students are involved in a terrible car accident leaving one dead. They seek help at an old farm house. They soon realize that they will not find help at the old house, only more terror.

Gore/Violence: For the types of deaths in this movie, there is not too much gore. We get to see some human insides, but nothing over the top.

Body Count: A very high body count in this movie. Most of the people die. But I wont ruin it and give an exact number....

Nudity & Sexuality: There was only one instance of nudity in this movie. A girl flashing a driver along a dirt road.

Death Scenes: The death scenes had potential, but they were not really shown and left me disappointed overall. Death by a chainsaw is usually a bloody even, but not so much in this movie. Don't get me wrong, there is some blood, but it's almost like they had a limited supply of fake blood and did not want to waste it. :-)

Acting/Storyline: I found the characters pretty annoying overall. I don't really want to blame the actors for it, but it has to be partially their fault, because they could have improved the characters a little. The storyline was great, but the acting made it mediocre.

Final Rating: When this movie started out, I had high hopes for it. It had some lesbians, nudity, a decent death scene.... then the stupid characters messed it up. For one instance they had a perfectly good car to get away in, but they run away on foot and hide. AND they done a poor job of hiding. They wimpered and cried in the BBQ pit! (For humans). I was highly disappointed by the acting, but the storyline had potential.

BiGMaN gives this movie 2.5/5 severed heads!
