Monster Man

2003 - Rated: R
Runtime: 95 Minutes

Studio: Lions Gate (The Asylum)

Director: Michael Davis

Writer(s): Michael Davis

Staring: Eric Jungmann, Justin Urich , Aimee Brooks , Michael Bailey Smith ,Joe Goodrich

Description: Two friends take a trip to an ex-lovers wedding. They are soon chased by a giant monster truck, trying to run them off the road. After the near death experience they come across a woman hitch-hiking, but this women is no ordinary hitch-hiker. They soon find out that she is somehow linked to that monster truck that tried to run them off the road, and they now need to fight through this nightmare to survive.

Gore/Violence: The movie has some blood and gore in it. At the end of the movie, there is blood and body parts everywhere and this is where most of the gore takes place. There are some other gory parts throughout the movie, there is a scene with a mutilated body riding in the car with the characters and the scene is actually pretty funny also.

Body Count: The body count is really low in the movie, only two people die in the movie. There are some corpses, but the deaths for the corpses are not shown.

Nudity & Sexuality: Surprisingly there is no nudity in the movie. There is a scene with a little bit of sexuality and a nice bra shot, but no nipples.

Death Scenes: There are only two death scenes in the movie, so there is not much to talk about. There is one death scene where the Monster Man runs over a guy's legs, then he runs over the guy's head and crushes it.

Acting/Storyline: The storyline is not original at all, the whole movie is a mix of Jeepers Creepers and The Hills Have Eyes. The beginning of the movie is almost identical to the beginning of Jeepers Creepers, its surprising they didn't get sued. What makes this movie great is the dialog between the characters. The movie is seriously funny as hell, but its not that scary and its not trying to be. The laughs come throughout the whole movie and it definitely makes up for the unoriginal storyline.

The acting is not the best in the movie but for the type of movie this is, it does the job.

Final Rating: Honestly, I was not expecting much from this movie when I rented it. After watching it, I was very surprised at how entertaining this movie was. This movie is not meant to be scary, this movie is meant to be entertaining and it does a hell of job in that category. If you are looking for a fun movie to watch with some friends, I recommend picking this entertaining gem up.
