Description: A remake of the 1958 film "The Blob". A group of teenagers stumble upon a blob that consumes everything in its path. The teens try to warn the townspeople once they witness the deaths of people who come into contact with it, but they do not take them seriously.
Gore/Violence: Not really any violence, unless you count the blob attacking people. But the gore is fantastic, especially for the time it came out. When people come into contact with the blob it is just like dumping acid on them. Their skin melts off, and they are consumed whole right in front of our eyes.
Body Count: Quite a few people fall victim to the blob. The body count starts off slow, but accelerates as the movie goes on. I was really surprised that one of the people killed was a kid. A rarity in the horror genre.
Nudity & Sexuality: It saddens me to say no...
Death Scenes: I thought the way the blob consumed its victims was great! As I said above it is just like acid being poured on the victims as we watch them dissolve.
Acting/Storyline: The acting in this movie was great, and was an asset in this movie. I thought the storyline was very original and enjoyable.
Final Rating: I thought The Blob was a great movie. I have yet to see the original, the sequel to the original, "Beware! The Blob", but now I just might pick them up. This movie has a lot of great parts and an original storyline. I recommend you pick this up if you have not seen it yet.
