Description: A remake of the 1974 classic. A group of 5 friends are traveling through Texas on their way back from a trip to Mexico. They come across a distraught hitchhiker who kills herself in their van. They try to report this to the authorities, but end up getting stalked by a chainsaw-wielding man nicknamed Leatherface, who will stop at nothing to kill everyone in his path.
Gore/Violence: There is a considerable about of gore and violence in this movie. We get to see brains blown out of a girl's head, limbs being cut off, and other damaging effects of a chainsaw wound. The violence goes hand-in-hand in this movie where most of the violence causes a considerable amount of gore.
Body Count: Extremely high body count. When Leatherface gets his hands of a chainsaw mass destruction is not far behind. 4 Deaths from Leatherface, 1 Suicide, and 1 from Erin.
Nudity & Sexuality: Nope. Erin has a wet t-shirt on, but no nudity.
Death Scenes: I thought the death scenes were pretty good in this movie. With the special effects they have available now they improved considerably over the original. The decapitations look so real, and the wounds are very bloody.
Acting/Storyline: I thought the acting was superb. Jessica Biel done a great job as her role as Erin, and Andrew Bryniarski portrayed a good Leatherface. The storyline was similar to the original and is a very original storyline indeed.
Final Rating: I've always been a fan of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It was one of my favourite horror movies growing up, and still is. I've almost always liked the originals better then the remakes, so I do still prefer the original, but this remake is top notch!
