The Covenant

September 8, 2006 - Rated: PG-13
Runtime: 97 Minutes

Studio: Screen Gems

Director: Renny Harlin

Writer(s): J.S. Cardone

Staring: Steven Strait, Laura Ramsey, Sebastian Stan, Taylor Kitsch, Chace Crawford

Description: The Covenant is about the Sons of Ipswich, four students from Spencer Academy a New England boarding school bound by their ancestry. The Sons of Ipswich have inherited special powers with the catch that they shorten their lives every time they use them.

Gore/Violence: Not really any gore, but some cool fights with their special powers. Nothing too spectacular but it's cool watching people get thrown through things.

Body Count: Not too many people die during the movie. Only a few and most are not main characters.

Nudity & Sexuality: Nope.

Death Scenes: A few deaths, but their deaths are more to push the storyline in certain directions, not to have spectacular death scenes.

Acting/Storyline: The acting was pretty good. They all play their parts perfectly with no complaints from me. The storyline is very original, and not too bad either. I would have liked a little bit more storyline then the big action scene at the end, but it fitted well within the movie.

Final Rating: I thought this was an all right movie overall. Nothing to go crazy over, but overall a good movie. Their special powers were great, and I would have loved if they were to talk about them a little bit more, but then they would not have time to tie up the loose ends before the end of the movie.

BiGMaN gives this movie 3/5 severed heads!
