LoveCracked!

2006 - Rated: R
Runtime: 87 Minutes

Studio: Biff Juggernaut Productions

Director: Various

Writer(s): Various

Staring: Joanna Angel, Adam Armstrong, Nick Basile, Brian A. Bernhard, Chad Bernhard

Description: The movie follows a fumbling journalist who is out to find the truth about H.P Lovecraft's past. The movie is filled with short stories that uses H.P Lovecraft's work as inspiration.

Gore/Violence: There is a lot of blood and gore in this movie. There are some stories that very little blood in it and there are some stories that have blood all over the place. One movie that is filled with blood and guts is The Re-Penetrator. If you think this short story is a sex story, than you would be correct, but the movie has blood all over the place.

Body Count: If you compare the amount of stories to the amount of deaths, there are not really that many deaths in the movie.

Nudity & Sexuality: There was tons of nudity in “The Re-penetrator” alone. The movie shows full frontal nudity and has scenes with sexuality in it. Only thing is that the people are covered in blood so it was kind of gross, so it might not be your kind of thing.

Death Scenes: I wasn't really impressed with the death scenes in the movie. They were all just blah. Nothing special about them.

Acting/Storyline: The main storyline follows a fumbling journalist on his search to uncover the past of H.P Lovecraft. I didn't really get hooked to the main storyline or anyone of the short stories. The movie has a Creepshow vibe, and is meant to be a horror/comedy. The movie just wasn't my taste, the humor in the movie wasn't my taste, and the fact that I know nothing about H.P Lovecraft is the third strike against the movie.

One short story that stands out compared to the others is “Bug Boy”. The movie is shot in black and white but I really liked the idea of the story and the creativity of it. It wouldn't work as a full feature film but it does work as a short story.

The acting in the movie is a mixed bag and is pretty much what you expect from an independent film.

Final Rating: I read somewhere that this is the debut movie from Biff Juggernaut Productions, and has a debut movie, it shows some promise. I might have liked it more if I knew anything about H.P Lovecraft, but unfortunately I don't. Any fans of H.P Lovecraft might want to pick this up and give it a chance, as for me, it jut wasn't my style.
